
Grizzlies pull of come from behind win

For the second straight night the Grizzlies trailed heading into the eighth inning. Tonight it was 7-3 to the Windy City ThunderBolts. The Grizzlies banged out six runs to take a 9-7 lead, and held on for the win. The Grizzlies trailed at one point 7-1.
The win improves the Grizzlies to 19-15 on the season. Windy City drops to 20-12.
The big blow was a three-run double off the left center field wall by Gary Gilbert. It made it 8-7. The Grizzlies would take on the final run with a sacrifice fly by Greg Stevens.
Gilbert was 1-5 on the night, but had four RBIs on the night. Shawn Smarsh was 3-5 with two RBIs. Reiter also had an RBI on the night.
Brad Drewes got the win in relief going 1 2/3 innings, striking out three. Michael Golden pitched a perfect ninth to earn his second consecutive save, and his league-leading ninth of the season. Scott Patterson started and lasted just three innings allowing all seven runs on seven hits.
The Grizzlies and the ThunderBolts continue the series with a 7:05 game Saturday night at GMC Stadium.
