
RiverHawks Takes Series Opener At Mid-Missouri

COLUMBIA, Mo. â The Rockford RiverHawks rallied after falling behind early to beat the Mid-Missouri Mavericks by a score of 10-4.
Mid-Missouri struck in the bottom of the first inning when Blake Blase hit a three-run home run giving the Mavericks a 3-0 lead.
Kevin Ciarrachi scored on a passed ball in the top of the second inning. Kiley Vaughn and Doug Schutt then hit RBI singles tying the game at 3-3. The RiverHawks took the lead 4-3 in the top of the third inning on a Ryan Larson RBI single.
Mid-Missouri tied the game at four in the bottom of the fourth inning when Blake Blase hit his second home run of the game.
The RiverHawks took the lead for good in the top of the fifth inning when Aaron McEachran hit a solo home run putting the âHawks ahead 5-4.
Adam Palmer got his first win of the season for the RiverHawks. Palmer pitched seven innings giving up four runs. Steve Soja took the loss for Mid-Missouri
The series continues tomorrow night at 7:05. The RiverHawks return to Marinelli Field on Monday at 7:05 to take on Gateway. Austin Powers will be making an appearance sponsored by Stanley Steamer and WTVO-17.
