The Guelph Storm announced today that forward Michael Latta is the AMJ Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, November 28th.
Playing in two games this weekend, the St. Clements native recorded 6 assists. Held off the scoresheet on Friday night against the Bulls, Latta bounced back with 2 assists on Saturday night in the Storm's 5-3 loss to the Knights. Sunday in Erie, the 19 year old picked up four assists and was named third star of the game.
With six points this past weekend, Latta took over the Storm's top scorer spot from teammate Peter Holland. In 25 games, the Nashville Predator third round pick has 15 goals and 16 assists for 31 points. He leads the Storm in points, and assists and is second in goals scored behind Holland (16). Producing at over a point per game pace, Latta picked up at least one point in all, but two games during the month of November.
Next up, the Storm returns to action on Friday, December 3rd at the Sleeman Centre when they host the Oshawa Generals with special jerseys to recognize Jessica's Footprint and a milestone event for the local charity as they celebrate the million dollar plateau for fundraising. Sunday afternoon the Storm is back in action at the Sleeman Centre playing host to the league leading Mississauga St. Michaels Majors.
