
Cizikas and Anderson Named to Team Canada Selection Camp Roster

Toronto, ON- Majors Captain Casey Cizikas and goaltender JP Anderson were named to Team Canada's National Junior Team selection camp roster today in Toronto. The two Majors join 37 other players including nine others from the OHL that will take part in the selection camp which opens on Sunday December 12 at the MasterCard Centre For Hockey Excellence in Toronto.
Majors General Manager and Head Coach Dave Cameron has taken over the head coaching duties for Team Canada after serving as an assistant coach the previous two tournaments. Cameron said he is proud to have Cizikas and Anderson in camp. "Obviously you're loyal to your guys but they made it on merit. They are two very exceptional players and are very deserving of the selection." Cizikas, 19, was named team captain at the start of the season and said he is very excited by the news. "I've worked hard all season and it feels good to be rewarded with this honour. It's going to be a lot of fun and my family is really excited." Cizikas currently has 30 points in 23 games played for the Majors.
JP Anderson, 18 of Toronto leads all OHL goaltenders with 16 wins on the season. Anderson also leads the OHL in goals against average (2.17), and shutouts with three. "It's something that's been in the back of my mind all season and it was really nice to hear from Dave that my name was on the list. It's an honour and a privelage" said an excited Anderson.
The selection camp will open on Sunday December 12 and run through to the final team announcement on Wednesday December 15. Following the announcement in Toronto, Team Canada will play in three pre-competition games across Southern Ontario before the tournament begins on December 26th in Buffalo, N.Y. Team Canada's first game of the tournament will be against Team Russia on Sunday December 26th at 4:00 p.m.
