Buffalo Bisons News Release

The Buffalo Bisons today announced that New York Mets' RHP D.J. CARRASCO has joined the Herd as part of his MLB injury rehabilitation assignment. Carrasco is active and available to pitch for the Bisons in tonight's 6:05 p.m. game against Syracuse.

Carrasco, 35, has yet to pitch for the Mets this year. He was placed on the disabled list before the start of the season with a right ankle sprain. He began his rehab on April 23 with St. Lucie (A) of the Florida State League and allowed just one hit and one walk in six innings over four appearances (four strikeouts). He threw three shutout innings on April 26 to earn a win over Jupiter and pitched a scoreless inning on back-to-back days, April 30 and May 1.

Carrasco made nine appearances (eight starts) with the Bisons in 2011 and was 2-3 with a 3.47ERA. He did not allow more than three runs in any of his eight starts and struck out nine batters in a win on May 10 in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Carrasco was 1-3 with a 6.02ERA in 42 games with the Mets last season.
