Belk, Inc. Partners with Gwinnett Braves for Belk Education Days at Coolray Field

ATLANTA - (May 3, 2012) Belk, Inc. announced today that the company will partner with the Gwinnett Braves to host Belk Education Days at Coolray Field for the second consecutive year. The weekday morning games are affordable field trip opportunities for Gwinnett County students and teachers and incorporate educational activities to enhance the overall baseball experience.

Schools can select from two Gwinnett Braves home games during the 2012 season: Thursday, May 10 vs. the Buffalo Bisons and Tuesday, August 21 vs. the Norfolk Tides. The first pitch for both games is scheduled for 10:35 a.m. Tickets are $5 per person for all participating groups, and seats are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Optional $5 meal packages are available upon request.

"The Gwinnett Braves is an organization known for its commitment to the Gwinnett County community, including the schools," said Dave Penrod, chairman of the Belk, Inc. Southern Division, which is based at the Mall of Georgia in Gwinnett County. "Education is a key focus of Belk's community initiatives, and we are excited to partner with the Gwinnett Braves to offer the education day games again this year."

The 2012 Belk Education Day games will feature interactive plaza stations provided by community partners and a Math and Science Activity Zone to provide students with the full educational experience. The Activity Guide for Teachers offers a large collection of original activities and examples that follow the instruction of Georgia Performance Standards (GPS).

Approximately 10,000 Gwinnett County students and educators participated in the 2011 Belk Education Days series at Coolray Field.
