Mets Recall Bisons Rottino, Option Schwinden to Buffalo

The New York Mets today announced they have recalled Buffalo Bisons OF VINNY ROTTINO. New York also announced that RHP CHRIS SCHWINDEN has been optioned back to the Herd.

Rottino will be making his second stint with the Mets as he was also promoted May 4-11. This year with the Bisons, he has hit .307 (43-140) with four home runs and 25RBI in 36 games. Rottino had a 20-game hit streak with the Bisons, April 18-May 17. On Saturday, May 19, Rottino became just the fourth Bisons player to ever hit three home runs in one game at Coca-Cola Field (3-5, 3R, 5RBI).

Schwinden was promoted to the Mets on Sunday but did not pitch for New York. With the Bisons this season, the righty is 3-2 with a 2.54ERA in 39.0 innings of work. His 2.54ERA is the sixth lowest mark in the International League.

Schwinden is expected to make his next Bisons start in Tuesday's series finale against the Indianapolis Indians (1:05 p.m.).
