Mesquite Outlaws Win Third Straight Matchup against Dallas Sidekicks

MESQUITE, Texas -ÃÂ Outlaws forward Jamie Lovegrove scored a hat trick and forward Anthony Powell scored two goals in the team's 7-1 win over cross-town rival Dallas Sidekicks. It was the Outlaws' third win in as many meetings with the Sidekicks. Attendance at the game was 3,055.
The Outlaws scored three unanswered goals in the first half, with forward Shaun David earning a goal on a power play in the first period as well as an assist in the second. Powell and Lovegrove also each scored before halftime.
The game continued with an additional goal by Powell and two by Lovegrove, with the second in an empty-net situation as the Sidekicks pulled goalkeeper Juan Gamboa in favor of sixth attacker Ricardinho Cavalcante. The game was nearly a shutout, till Sidekicks midfielder Gustavo Piedra got one in the goal at 11:01 in the fourth period. VcMor Eligwe made a goal toward the end of the period to finish the scoring for the game.
In addition to Lovegrove's hat trick and Powell's two goals, defender Mike Jones had two assists, off goals scored by Lovegrove and Eligwe. ÃÂ Defenders Cody Ellis, J.J. Oteze and Mitchell Cardenas also had assists.
