St. Louis Ambush News Release
St. Charles, MO - The St. Louis Ambush have acquired veteran defender Jonatan Santos from the Milwaukee Wave in exchange for a player to be named later. The Ambush and Santos came to terms on an agreement early this morning and the deal, which both teams had been working on for several days, was finally completed. Per league and team policies, no further details of the deal were announced.
Santos, who hails from Aracaju, Brazil, brings eleven years of professional arena soccer experience to the Ambush. He has seen action with the Wave, San Diego Sockers and Cedar Rapids Rampage.
Santos has appeared in 156 regular season games prior to this season, posting 37 goals, 42 assists and blocking 187 shots. He has valuable postseason experience, having appeared in 22 playoff games where he tallied three goals, four assists and 24 blocked shots. He was part of last season's Wave championship team that captured the MASL Ron Newman Cup.
The Ambush are in Mexico for two games this weekend. They lost 12-7 to Soles de Sonora Friday night and challenge the Monterrey Flash on Sunday. The next Ambush home game is slated for Friday, January 17, when Utica City FC visits the Family Arena for a 7:35 p.m. CST match.
