Memphis Hustle Edge Austin in Overtime

AUSTIN - Memphis Hustle edged the Austin Spurs, 116-117, in overtime at the HEB Center at Cedar Park on Friday.
Spurs Guard Jordan Hall led the Spurs with 33 points, 12 rebounds and 3 assists as seven Spurs reached double figures. Chaundee Brown Jr. finished with 22 points, two-way center Dominick Barlow and Tommy Kuhse added 13 points for Austin.
The Austin Spurs took control early, draining 12 three-pointers in the first half en route to a 74-59 lead at the break. Spurs guard Jordan Hall finished the half 9-for-9 from the field, knocking down 7 from beyond the arc.
With 5:10 left in the third period, Memphis' Jacob Gilyard found Sean McDermott for a layup to cut the Spurs lead to eight, 77-85. The Hustle continued to run off 14 consecutive points to tie the game 85-all. Austin took an 88-87 lead into the final frame.
The Spurs and Hustle traded baskets to finish regulation tied at 100. Trailing by one in OT, Memphis forward McDermott scored on a driving layup to give the Hustle the lead, target score and win, 117-116.
Gilyard and McDermott registered 19 points each for the Hustle. Gilyard also recorded 11 assists and 10 rebounds for a triple-double, while Dakota Mathias added 16 points and 13 rebounds. Damien Smith tallied 25 points in the win.

The Spurs will travel to Edinburg, Texas, on Dec. 5, for a matchup against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers with tipoff set for 7 p.m. The game will be streamed live on nbagleague.com.
