Greensboro Swarm Held Formal Ribbon Cutting for Novant Health Fieldhouse at Greensboro Coliseum
December 2, 2022 - NBA G League (G League)
Greensboro Swarm News Release
The Greensboro Swarm, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, announced today that Hornets Sports & Entertainment, Swarm, Novant Health and City of Greensboro officials will participate in a formal ribbon cutting commemorating the completion of the rebranding of the Novant Health Fieldhouse at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex immediately prior to tipoff of the team's game tomorrow night against the Maine Celtics.
The final exterior signage was installed earlier this week, concluding the rebranding that began on October 6 with the announcement that the Swarm had extended their lease with the Greensboro Coliseum Complex and entered into a naming rights partnership with Novant Health.
"We are delighted to complete the process of officially transitioning our arena into the Novant Health Fieldhouse," said Swarm President Steve Swetoha. "This is an exciting moment for our franchise and our partnership with Novant Health, and we look forward to continuing to enhance the experience of our fans when they visit our building."
Already the team's official healthcare provider, Novant Health strengthened its connection to the Swarm and the Triad area by becoming the naming rights partner for the Fieldhouse. The Novant Health Fieldhouse is one of just five arenas in the NBA G League with a corporate naming rights deal that neither shares its venue with another professional sports team nor is open to the public as a training facility.
"We're very excited to expand our partnership with the Greensboro Swarm and officially introduce the Novant Health Fieldhouse to the community," said Kirsten Royster, president and chief operating officer of Novant Health Kernersville Medical Center. "Over the years, the Greensboro Swarm have not only established a great team-first approach on the court but have also been instrumental in bringing the community together and advocating for athletes of all ages to live healthier lifestyles. We're proud to open the Novant Health Fieldhouse and to serve as the official healthcare provider for the team, fans and the greater Triad community."
