
Memorial Day Weekend Excitement At Blair County Ballpark

ALTOONA, PA - The Altoona Curve return home for a fun filled Memorial Day weekend jam packed with star appearances and exciting promotions. The Curve will be welcoming two former World Series Champions on consecutive days. Friday May, 22nd 1979 World Series hero John Candelaria will be on hand and on Saturday May, 23rd 1971 World Series champion and current Pirate broadcaster Steve Blass will be in attendance. Fireworks will follow Sunday's game as well as many other classic Curve promotions throughout this seven day homestand. So come out to BCB, cheer on the Curve and help them celebrate Memorial Day weekend at Blair County Ballpark.
Friday May 22, 2009 - Reading Phillies at Altoona Curve 7:05 p.m. (Gates open at 6:00 p.m.)
Pirate great John Candelaria will throw out the night's ceremonial first pitch and sign autographs on the concourse for two hours during the game.
All students from kindergarten to college will receive $3 general admission and outfield reserve tickets and $4 grandstand tickets
Saturday May 23, 2009 - Reading Phillies at Altoona Curve Doubleheader 5:05 p.m. (Gates open at 4:00 p.m.)
1971 World Champ and current Pirates' broadcaster Steve Blass scheduled to sign autographs, throw out a first pitch, and participate in an on-field event.
Kids will also enjoy an appearance by the Pirate Parrot
The first 2,000 fans will receive a Curve Camo Hat, courtesy of Holiday Inn Express.

Wednesday May 27, 2009 - Bowie Baysox at Altoona Curve 10:35 a.m. (Gates open at 9:30 a.m.)
The first of two back-to-back School Kid's Days, presented by Mid Atlantic Dairy. Game time is 10:35 a.m., with the gates opening bright and early at 9:30 a.m.
