May 22, 2009 - Eastern League (EL1)
Harrisburg Senators News Release
The Senators defeated Bowie 3-2 on Friday night at Metro Bank Park. For the second time this season the Senators drew over 5,000 fans, 5,036 to be exact, pushing their average to nearly 3,600 a game. For the first time this year the Sens have won three in a row and five out of eight overall.
Luis Atilano started and pitched brilliantly for the Senators, pitching into the 8th inning before turning the ball over to Zech Zinicola. Atilano epitomized pitching to contact as he struck out just one batter and allowed eight hits.
Zinicola pitching the final two innings without allowing a run for his fifth save. He now has gone 10 innings without allowing a run.
Marvin Lowrance capped off a three-run first inning with a two-run blast to right field, his eighth on the year. Luke Montz chipped in with two hits and Joel Guzman drove in a run in front of the home run by Lowrance in the first inning.
The four-game set continues on Saturday night at 7:00pm.
