Trenton Thunder News Release
(Trenton, NJ) - On Sunday, August 15 at Waterfront Park in Trenton, the New Jersey Governor's Task Force on Cancer Prevention, Early Detection and Treatment will provide Trenton Thunder players and fans with free Melanoma (skin cancer) screenings.
Doctors associated with the NJ Governor's Task Force on Cancer Prevention, Early Detection and Treatment will be at Waterfront Park to screen all interested Trenton Thunder players for Melanoma between 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm.
Fans interested in receiving a free screening are invited to stop by the Melanoma Awareness table on the concourse during the game. Dressing rooms will be set up and doctors will be on hand to provide free skin cancer evaluations and consultation. Melanoma screenings take approximately 10 minutes. Waterfront Park gates open at 3:30 pm for season ticket holders and 4:05 pm for the general public. A game ticket is required to obtain the free Melanoma screening.
August 15 is also the first ever "Hot Dogs vs. Hamburgers", a new promotion to determine "Baseball Concession Supremacy". Free All-You-Can-Eat Hot Dogs, Hamburgers and Cheeseburgers will be available to all fans with a ticket to that day's game. Tickets are $11 (adult pavilion level) or $12 (club level) and availability is limited for this popular offer, so fans are encouraged to reserve their seats in advance.
In addition, August 15 is Super Hero Night and fans are encouraged to dress up as a super hero or in super hero attire. Thunder Comic Books will be given to the first 1,500 fans and like all Sunday afternoon all children can run the bases after the game thanks to TD Bank.
All Sunday games in the month of August begin at the "Beat The Heat" time of 5:05 pm.
The Thunder begin a three game series at the Reading Phillies on Tuesday and will return to action at Waterfront Park on Friday, August 6 against the Binghamton Mets. Tickets are available by calling 609-394-3300 or online at trentonthunder.com.
