JERSEY SHORE, NJ - Aberdeen got back to back home runs from Colton Cowser and Coby Mayo in the third inning and topped the BlueClaws 3-2 on Wednesday night at ShoreTown Ballpark.
With the win, Aberdeen (40-19) clinches the SAL Northern Division First-Half title while the BlueClaws fall to 23-36.
After Griff McGarry threw two scoreless innings to start his night, Aberdeen scored three times in the third to take the lad. With two out, Collin Burns reached on an infield single. Colton Cowser (3rd) and Coby Mayo (11th) then hit back to back home runs to put the IronBirds up 3-1. Mayo's home run was his sixth in 11 games against Jersey Shore this season.
The BlueClaws got a run back in the bottom of the third on an RBI double from Rixon Wingrove, but that would be the final run of the game.
