Kane County Cougars News Release

GRAND CHUTE, WI - The Kane County Cougars, in conjunction with the Chicago Cubs, have announced that left-handed pitcher Sheldon McDonald has been promoted to Advanced-A Daytona. Utility player and coach Kenny Socorro has been added to the active roster for Tuesday afternoon's four-game series finale. Today's roster moves maintain an active squad of 25 players.

McDonald worked in 17 games out of the bullpen for the Cougars posting a 2.41 ERA. The lefty heads back to Daytona where he started the season by recording a 3.42 ERA over 16 appearances.

24-year-old Kenny Socorro has been apart of the Cougars coaching staff all season long. A 2011 44th round draft pick, Socorro played in one game in 2012 for the Peoria Chiefs. As a pitcher, he tossed two shutout innings without allowing a hit to earn the win against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on May 29th. Overall, Socorro has played in 33 pro games, twelve as a shortstop, eleven at second base, nine at third and one as a pitcher.
