McCarthy Recalled to Hartford, Himelson Signed

Greenville, SC - The Greenville Road Warriors, proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers and the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, today announced forward Chris McCarthy has been recalled to Hartford and defenseman Andrew Himelson has been signed to a contract.

In addition, the Road Warriors have traded defenseman Jacob Johnston to Utah to complete the Nov. 7th trade for Charles-Olivier Rousell, following further talks by both organizations. The revision to the trade keeps forward Trevor Parkes in Greenville.

McCarthy earned six points (2g, 4a) in eight games for the Road Warriors this season with a +2 rating and four penalty minutes. Last season, the 23-year old made his professional debut with Hartford and played eight games following a stellar five-year career at the University of Vermont. Playing in 150 games for UVM, the Collegeville, PA native earned 114 points (46g, 68a) and 69 penalty minutes. In 2013-14, he earned the John C. Cunningham Award and was recognized as the team's Most Valuable Player for the second straight season.

A 6'1, 190-pound forward, McCarthy was also a member of the United States National Team Development Program (USNTDP) Under-18 Team in 2008-09.

Himelson, 24, began his professional career last season with the Tulsa Oilers (Central Hockey League), Knoxville Ice Bears (Southern Professional Hockey League) and Greenville. In 35 games with the Road Warriors, he notched 10 points (1g, 9a) eight penalty minutes and a +6 rating. Himelson also appeared in 13 playoff contests for the Warriors notching two assists. The Monroe, New York native made his Road Warriors debut on January 3rd following four games with Tulsa and 17 contests with Knoxville.

Prior to turning pro, Himelson spent four seasons at Clarkson University and earned 32 points (7g, 25a) and 54 penalty minutes in 112 games. The 5'9, 183-pound defenseman also played one season in the United States Hockey League with the Des Moines Buccaneers. He was drafted in the seventh round (#82 overall) by Des Moines in the 2007 USHL Draft.

Johnston, 26, skated in all 10 games for the Road Warriors this season and recorded five points (1g, 4a) and four penalty minutes. Last season, the Sudbury, Ontario native played in 51 contests with the Evansville Icemen and totaled 20 points (5g, 15a) and 28 penalty minutes during his rookie campaign. He also made four appearances with the AHL's Texas Stars near the end of the 2012-13 season and earned an assist.
