McCarron's Hat Trick Helps IceCaps Sink Americans

St. John's, NL ( October 17, 2015) - Rookie centre Michael McCarron notched his first pro goal and added two more for his first hat trick as the St. John's IceCaps thumped the Rochester Americans 6-2 Saturday night at Mile One Centre. With the win, the IceCaps swept the two-game series.

Christian Thomas scored for the second straight game and added two assits while Joel Hanley added a goal and an assist. Charles Hudon and Bud Holloway each registered two helpers. Dustin Tokarski was solid, making 29 saves on 31 shots for the victory.

St. John's led 2-1 after 40 minutes on goals by Morgan Ellis and McCarron, and piled it on in the third with four markers to put the game out of reach.

The IceCaps hit the ice again Tuesday and Wednesday for a two-game set vs. division rival the Binghamton Senators. Tickets are available at the Mile One Centre box office and online at www.mileonecentre.com.
