Macon Mayhem News Release
FAYETTEVILLE, NC- Macon Mayhem forwards Jake Trask and Dylan Vander Esch recorded four points apiece on Friday night, as the Mayhem walloped the Fayetteville Marksmen 6-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Mayhem jumped out to an early lead and never looked back against the Marksmen. Rookie Dylan Vander Esch opened up the scoring seven minutes into the game on the power play, assisted by Daniel Gentzler and Brandon Pfeil. In the waning minutes of the period, Stathis Soumelidis put the Mayhem up two to head into the first intermission.
Macon added two more goals in the second period to give them a four-goal lead. Daniel Gentzler scored a goal on a delayed penalty from Fayetteville, and that was followed by a Jake Trask power play goal at the 14:04-mark of the second.
Former Mayhem Paul Russell got one back for the Marksmen to start the period, but the Mayhem scored two goals in a one-minute span to tack onto the lead. John Siemer buried a pass from Trask on a two-man break to take the 5-1 lead. Just one minute later Trask scored his second of the game on a beautiful move around the defender and goaltender to make it 6-1.
