May 29 Carolina Mudcats Game Information

May 29, 2015 - Carolina League (CarL1)
Carolina Mudcats News Release

Tonight the Mudcats look to avoid setting a new franchise record for consecutive losses with a victory in the finale of a three game series against the Southern Division leading Myrtle Beach Pelicans. The Mudcats send RHP Seth Webster to the mound for tonight's Friday night start. He has appeared in one game so far with Carolina since being transferred from Class A Rome to the Mudcats on 5/21. Webster made his Mudcats debut on 5/23 in Wilmington and allowed just one earned run over seven innings pitched. He scattered six hits, struck out four and retired 12 batters via groundout in his last start.

The Mudcats are currently stuck in a franchise record tying 12 game losing streak. They have lost every game since the early morning bus crash on 5/12. During the losing streak the Mudcats are batting a combined .213 with just 26 runs scored (2.17 r/g). They are also batting just .179 with runners in scoring position during the skid and have stranded 79 men on base. The Mudcats pitching staff is 0-12 with a 3.92 ERA, 46 walks and 79 strikeouts during the streak.

OF Joey Terdoslavich has been transferred to Carolina by the Atlanta Braves as part of a Major League rehabilitation assignment. Terdoslavich (ter-DOSS-lah-vitch) was called up last September by the Braves and was 3-for-10 with two doubles and two RBI over nine games. He also appeared in 55 games with Atlanta during the second half of the 2013 season and hit .215/.315/.266 with 17 hits, four doubles and four RBI. Terdoslavich is the first rehabbing Major Leaguer assigned to the Mudcats by the Braves since the new player development agreement was finalized this past off-season. He was originally placed on the disabled list on April 5 with a sprained left wrist. Terdoslavich was named to the Carolina League All-Star team in 2011 after batting .286/.341/.526 in 131 games with the Lynchburg Hillcats. He also had 52 doubles, 20 home runs and 82 RBI in 2011 with Lynchburg.

Today's game begins at 7:00 p.m. at Five County Stadium in Zebulon and will air on the Mudcats Radio Network with the pre game show beginning at 6:45 p.m.

All games air on the Mudcats Radio Network, The Big Dawg 98.5 FM, Rock City 99.3 FM and Sports 1490 AM.
