Last time out.

Evansville took an early 1-0 lead in the third but the Slammers responded right away in the bottom half of the frame. An Abel Nieves RBI single and a Hector Pellot RBI double gave Joliet the 2-1 lead. The Slammers tallied three runs in the sixth inning to give themselves some breathing space. With the bases loaded, David Fox delivered a double to score three runs. Jim Schult pitched two scoreless innings out of the bullpen and Amalio Diaz finished things off in the ninth. Binder picked up the victory in his first professional start. The Slammers managed only five hits in the contest but they held Evansville to four. The Otters did not help their cause by committing three errors on the night.

For Starters.

Naperville native RHP Michael Perconte gets the start today for Joliet. He is the son of Joliet native and former MLB player Jack Perconte. Perconte originally signed with the Cubs as a non-drafted free agent out of Murray State in 2008. He reached the Double-A level with the Rangers and Astros organizations in 2011. Perconte signed with the Gary South Shore RailCats and pitched in two games in 2012 before being traded to the Slammers for LHP Chuck Lukanen and future considerations.

Movin' on up!
