The Mudcats start up a seven game home stand tonight with game one of a three game series against the Myrtle Beach Pelicans. Carolina is coming off a 2-6 road trip through Potomac and Wilmington and currently sit in third place behind the Salem Red Sox and the Pelicans in the Carolina League Northern Division Standings. The Mudcats are 17-25 and 12.0 games back of first place Salem. They are also 6.5 games back of second place Myrtle Beach. The Pelicans enter tonight's game at 24-19 and at 5.5 games out of first in the first half standings.
RHP Enderson Franco gets the start for the Mudcats in tonight's series opener. Franco is 3-2 and has pitched to a 6.00 ERA over eight starts this season. Franco was 2-1 with a 7.36 ERA over five starts in April and is 1-1 with a 4.24 ERA over three starts in May this season. He last pitched on 5/18 in Potomac in game one of Carolina's current road trip and game one of a doubleheader against the Nationals. The Mudcats were shutout on 5/18 in Potomac and Franco took the loss after allowing just three runs on seven hits over five innings pitched.
Tonight's game begins at 7:00 p.m. at Frawley Stadium in Wilmington, DE and will air on the Mudcats Radio Network with the pregame show beginning at 6:45 p.m.
