Mavs Minutes

No Place Like Home: The Mavericks enter this week as one of just three teams in the ECHL who are undefeated on home ice, joined by Toledo (3-0-0-0) and South Carolina (2-0-0-0).

Cardiac Mavs: The Mavericks won back-to-back games in overtime for the first time November 15 and 17 of last season, wins over Wichita and Fort Wayne.

Super Cooper: Mark Cooper shined over the weekend with five points (2g, 3a) and both game-winning goals in a big two-game set at Silverstein Eye Centers Arena. 'Coop' is tied with linemate Jared VanWormer for the scoring lead on the team, both with 11 points on the season. Cooper tops the Mavericks with two game-winners and five goals on the season. His overtime tally against Utah was his 100th-career ECHL point.

Trending Up: The Mavericks currently sit fourth in the Mountain Division standings by point total but trail top-seeded Utah by two points with two games in hand. Each of the three teams ahead of the Mavericks has played at least one more game and none lead by more than two points.

No Fluke: The Mavericks' hot start has been anything but a fluke. Through seven games on the season, the Mavs find themselves in the top 10 in the league in goals for (4th - 3.71), goals against (5th - 2.57), shots for (7th - 33.57) and shots against (1st - 27.00). Being in the top seven in each of those categories will lead to a successful season more times than not.
