LAST WEEK - Wichita finished its road trip this past Friday against the Kansas City Mavericks. The Thunder scored first with a power play goal from Travis Brown, but Kansas City tied it in the second. Mark Cooper scored the game-winner in overtime to take a 2-1 victory. The Thunder returned home on Sunday afternoon to host the Utah Grizzlies for the first of three-straight between the two teams. Utah took the see-saw affair in overtime by the final of 4-3.
PAST 60 - Wichita has played seven games so far this season and all but two have needed overtime or a shootout to decide the outcome. Wichita is 0-3 in games decided in overtime, losing the last three contests in the extra period. The Thunder are 2-0 in shootout situations. The Thunder have collected points in their last five games.
PC - Pierre-Cedric Labrie added a goal and an assist on Sunday afternoon. The veteran forward has five points, which is tied for the team-lead.
TEX - Keoni Texeira picked up his first pro point last night, assisting on the first goal of the game. The rookie defenseman has been a solid addition to the Thunder blueline.
BUSTED - The Thunder penalty kill stopped 30-straight power plays to start the season before giving up their first marker on Sunday. Wichita is second on the penalty kill at 91.4%.
SCORING FIRST - Wichita has scored first in six of the seven games the team has played and also lit the lamp first in the last five contests. The Thunder are 3-0-3-0 in those situations.
BY PERIOD - Wichita is outscoring teams 7-1 in the first period through the first seven games. The Thunder scored their first third-period goal last night.
