Friday, October 22 - Missouri Mavericks vs. Wichita Thunder, 7:05 p.m. CST

The Mavericks host the Wichita Thunder on Youth Jersey Night in the first of six games at Independence Events Center this season between the two teams. They will meet a total of 11 times in 2010-11. Missouri went undefeated against the Thunder last season going 10-0-0. Of the 10 wins against the Thunder, the Mavericks outscored Wichita 42-14 and had 10 power play goals compared to just four for the Thunder. Wichita heads into this season with a new coach, Kevin McClelland.

Saturday, October 23 - Missouri Mavericks at Mississippi RiverKings, 7:05 p.m. CST

The Mavericks head to Mississippi for their first road contest of the season. Missouri finished the regular season one spot behind the RiverKings last year, but the Mavericks upset Mississippi in the playoffs and won their first ever playoff series 2 games to 1. The game will be the first against former Maverick Jeff Christian who led the team in scoring in their inaugural season. After playing each other a total of 11 times last season, the Mavericks and RiverKings will square off a total of just five times this season with three at the IEC and two in Mississippi.

Friday, October 15 - Missouri 5 vs. Odessa 3

Missouri opened up the 2010-11 CHL season with a bang, on Friday night at Independence Events Center beating the reigning regular season champion Odessa Jackalopes, 5-3. Mavericks' forward Ryan Jardine led all scorers with a goal and two assists and goaltender Gerry Festa stopped 29 of 32 shots in the win. Kyle Corupe led the Jackalopes with a pair of goals.

Saturday, January 2 - Missouri 1 vs. Bloomington 2 - Shootout

The Mavericks faced off against the Bloomington PrairieThunder for the first time ever Saturday night at Independence Events Center. Bloomington joined the CHL in the off-season along with four other teams from the International Hockey League. A crowd of 4,714 filled the building as the PrairieThunder outlasted the Mavericks, 2-1 in a shootout. Tab Lardner scored the Mavericks' lone goal of the game for his second tally of the season, and goaltender Rob Nolan stopped 24 of 25 shots in his first appearance with the Mavericks.

Notes

Home stand to start - The Mavericks will play seven of their first eight games at home. This Saturday's game in Mississippi is the only road game in the first four weeks of the season for the Mavericks.

Youth Jerseys - The first 1,500 youth (12 and under) will receive a youth jersey at the Mavericks' game this Friday, October 22 against the Wichita Thunder.

Roster moves- The Mavericks already made a couple roster moves after the first game due to injuries. Nathan O'Nabigon joined Derek Pallardy and Simon Watson in the injured reserve, and defenseman Cole Ruwe signed with the Mavericks on Saturday morning before the team's game against Bloomington.

Penalty Kill - The Mavericks are one of three teams remaining in the CHL with a perfect penalty kill. Missouri has killed all eight chances opponents have had on the power play through two games. Conversely, the Mavericks are one of five teams that have not scored on the power play (0 for 6).
