Kansas City Mavericks News Release
The Mavericks travel to Tulsa for the first time this season on Thanksgiving Day. The Oilers scored in the final minute of regulation last Friday to hand the Mavericks their first home loss. This is the first of four games between the teams at BOK Center. Tulsa remains in first place in the Northern Conference with a record of 11-3-0 for 22 points, while the Mavericks are 4-8-1 and in sixth place in the North.

The Mavericks play host to the Thunder for the third time at the Independence Events Center and fifth time overall when the teams collide on Black Friday. All four of Missouri's wins this season have come against the Thunder who are one spot below the Mavericks in the standings. Missouri has outscored Wichita 15-5 in the four games and Jeff Christian leads the team with seven points (1-6=7) and six assists. Chad Hinz also has four goals in four games against the Thunder.

The Mudbugs and Mavericks play the first of four overall meetings this season Saturday night at CenturyTel Center. Bossier-Shreveport is currently one spot ahead of the Mavericks in the standings with 14 points and a 7-6-0 record. The Mudbugs are led by defenseman Simon Mangos who has 10 points (2-8=10) in 13 games played.

Friday, November 20- Missouri 4 vs Tulsa 5
T.J. Caig's power play goal in the final minute of regulation lifted the Tulsa Oilers to a 5-4 win over the Missouri Mavericks in front of 4,587 fans Friday night at Independence Events Center. Missouri, fueled by Jeff Christian's two goals, came back from a two-goal deficit to tie the game in the third period, but couldn't score the go-ahead goal. Five different Oilers scored goals including three on the power play.
Saturday, November 21 - Missouri 1 at Mississippi 6
The Mississippi RiverKings defeated the Missouri Mavericks 6-1behind Bobby Chaumont's hat-trick Saturday night at DeSoto Civic Center. Mississippi scored twice in the first 1:35 of regulation and added four second-period goals before Tyler Fleck scored the Mavericks lone goal in the third period.

Dinner on Ice - Join the Mavericks and Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City for "Dinner on Ice" on Wednesday, December 2 at Independence Events Center. Tables will actually be set up on the ice and the Mavericks players will serve as waiters for the event. All proceeds and tips will benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City. Ladies Night - The Mavericks have announced the first installment of Ladies Night will be held on Monday, December 7 at the Holiday Inn (formerly Sheraton) CoCo Key resort. The evening's festivities will include a Hockey 101 presentation with the Mavericks' players and coaches, dinner, drinks and a gift pack courtesy of Bolero Salon & Spa. Tickets for the event are available at the Mavericks' front office and space is limited to the first 100 ladies. The package is $50 for non-season ticket holders and includes a ticket to the Mavericks' game on December 8 against the Rapid City Rush at Independence Events Center. Tickets are $40 for season ticket holders.
Pieper Waived - Missouri has waived forward Karey Pieper. The Coronation, Alberta native had one goal in nine games with the Mavericks this season.
Bret Tyler Signs - The Mavericks have also announced the team has signed defenseman Bret Tyler. The Maynard, Maine native is in his second professional season having played for the ECHL's Las Vegas Wranglers in 2008-09. He finished with 18 points (2-16=18) in 56 games with the Wranglers in his rookie season. Tyler attended the University of Maine and finished with 27 goals and 62 assists in his four-year college career.
Streak - Mavericks' forward Jeff Christian is currently riding a six-game scoring streak in which the veteran has 11 points (2-9=11) in past six games. Chad Hinz did not score in the Mavericks' last game ending his team-high scoring streak at seven games. He had 12 points (5-7=12) in the seven games and has failed to score in just two games this season.
