
Thunder Splits Weekend Three Ways

Wichita Thunder News Release
Wichita went 1-1-1 over the weekend, beginning with a 3-2 win over Arizona on Friday night at the Kansas Coliseum. Joel Hanson scored two goals in the second period, while Jim Jorgensen provided the game-winner with less than four minutes to go in the third. Scott Campbell earned the win, stopping 32 of 34 and helped the Thunder end a seven-game winless streak. Glenn Detulleo finished the night with three assists while Jason Deleurme chipped in two more.
The Thunder lost 4-3 in a shootout to the Tulsa Oilers on Saturday night at home. Down 2-1 in the closing minutes of regulation, Mark Adamek scored two power play goals just 14 seconds apart to give the Thunder a 3-2 lead. Tulsa re-tied the game with 1:19 remaining in the third, and then beat the Thunder 2-0 in four rounds of the shootout, with Rob Hisey getting credit for the game-winning goal. Brandon Kaleniecki scored shorthanded in the second period. Glenn Detulleo had his second straight multi-point night, notching two more assists. Jon Horrell made his official return to Wichita, saving 36 of 39 in the shootout loss.
Wichita lost 4-2 to the Oilers in a rematch on Sunday afternoon at the BOK Center. Jim Jorgensen scored the first power play goal allowed by the Oilers at home this season at 3:39 in the first to give the Thunder a 1-0 lead. Tulsa though, tied the game 37 seconds later and went on to score four unanswered goals. Joel Hanson scored his fourth goal in as many games in the third to bring Wichita within two. Scott Campbell took the loss, saving 23 of 27.
Detulleo Making Plays
Center Glenn Detulleo is riding a six-game point streak. Detulleo has 10 points during the stretch, all assists. The veteran currently leads the Thunder with 15 points in 15 games and had three consecutive multi-point games from November 17th-21st.
Hanson Regaining Touch
Right wing Joel Hanson has five goals and is +4 in his last six games after going the first nine games of the season without a point. Hanson scored 33 points in 39 games for the Thunder last year.
Nice Pickup
Newly added forward Jason Deleurme has already made a huge impact for the Thunder. Deleurme scored a goal and an assist in his Thunder debut last Tuesday, and already has five points in four games. Deleurme opened the season with the Colorado Eagles, scoring five points in four contests.
Defense Adding Offense
Thunder blue liners Mark Adamek and Jim Jorgensen are making large contributions to the Thunder's offense. Adamek leads Thunder defensemen with nine points in 15 games and scored his first goals of the season on Saturday versus Tulsa. Jorgensen meanwhile, has four points in his last six games, including the game-winning goal on Friday versus Arizona.
Still Mixing it Up
The Thunder had three fighting majors on Sunday at Tulsa and currently ranks fifth in the league with 21 major penalties this season. Chris McAllister leads the league with 18 minors, while Mike Batovanja is third with seven majors.
Injury Update
Kyle Bruce remains on the 14-Day IR with a groin injury and is eligible to return on November 25th. Jason Duda is still on the 30-Day IR with a back injury.
