
Mavericks to Play Second Televised Game on XFINITY Television Network this Saturday

INDEPENDENCE, Missouri - The second of five televised games on the Missouri Mavericks XFINITY Television Network will take place this Saturday, November 13 at Independence Events Center on Metro Sports. Kansas City Royals' longtime announcer Denny Matthews will handle the color commentary as the Mavericks take on the Fort Wayne Komets for the first time. The broadcast will begin at 7 p.m. on Metro Sports, channel 258 on all XFINITY Digital Starter and above households.
"Denny is the longest-tenured sports broadcaster in Kansas City history and a devoted follower and player of hockey," said Mavericks' President and General Manager Brent Thiessen. "We are truly honored to have him provide the color commentary for our televised Mavericks' games on the XFINITY Television Network, and switching his trademark call, Gone! into Goal!"
The Mavericks have partnered with Comcast to deliver five live televised games this season, on Metro Sports (XFINITY Channel 258), and will launch a Mavericks On-Demand Channel Monday, November 15th. Mavericks On-Demand will allow Comcast subscribers to view segments such as Hockey A to Z, Top Fights, and game highlights at no additional charge.
Missouri will return to action Thursday as they hit the road to take on the Quad City Mallards in Moline, Illinois. Then they travel to Wichita to take on the Thunder at Intrust Bank Arena. The Mavericks will make their return to Independence on Saturday, November 13, when they face the Fort Wayne Komets at 7:05 p.m. at Independence Events Center.
