Unique Promotional Week Continues for Gems

Dayton, OH- The Dayton Gems are always looking for different and unique ways to attract fans to their games throughout the season and this week is no exception to that philosophy. The Gems will take on the rival Fort Wayne Komets for the first of 14 meetings this season (7 home 7 away) on Thursday, November 11th at 7:00 p.m. Thursday's game will be the first of five "Thirsty Thursdays" of the season. Then on Friday, November 12th the Gems will meet the Arizona Sundogs for the first time ever at 7:30 p.m. Friday's game will be known as Christopher Walken Theme Night.

"Thirsty Thursdays" will feature $1.00 Bud Light Drafts on sale throughout various locations in the arena during the night of the game (fans must show legal ID). This promotion will apply to all Thursday home games except for the game on November 25th (Thanksgiving Night) against the Evansville IceMen at 7:00 p.m.

This Friday will be Christopher Walken Theme Night. The first 500 fans through the door will receive a free cowbell along with a mask of Walken. In addition to the giveaways, a special impersonator (Dayton resident Steve Payne) will be making Public Address announcements, and all of the prizes for the intermission activities and media time outs will be Walken DVDs. The Gems will change their intro song to "Don't fear the Reaper" by the Blue Oyster Cult to tie into the Walken theme from the hilarious and iconic Saturday Night Live skit.

The Gems return home this Thursday, November 11th at 7:00 p.m. as they take on the Fort Wayne Komets for the first time this season and Friday, November 12th at 7:30 p.m. when they take on the Arizona Sundogs for the first time ever. Friday night's game (November 12th) will be Christopher Walken theme night. There will be a special Public Address Announcer doing an impersonation of Walken all night. Also included in the theme, the first 500 fans through the door will receive a free cow bell, the Gems intro theme will be changed to "Don't Fear the Reaper" by the Blue Oyster Cult and all of the prizes that night will be Christopher Walken DVDs. The Kettering Medical Center is proud to be the official title sponsor of the Gems for the 2010-11 season.
