November 10, 2010 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees News Release
The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees have always been a committed community member in the Rio Grande Valley. By helping to raise money and awareness for many issues, both local and national, the Killer Bees commitment continues this November with a series of events.
November 18- The popular annual Tip A Bee event will take place at Remington's Steak House once again this year. Killer Bee players will be donating their services as waiters for the night with all tips going directly to the Make A Wish Foundation. Remington's is located inside the Embassy Suites hotel at 1800 S Second St in McAllen. Fans can make reservations by calling 956-686-3000.
November 20- The Killer Bees will wear special Harley Davidson themed jerseys as the Bees face Texas. After the game a jersey auction will be held in the VIP room at the State Farm Arena with all proceeds from jersey sales going to the Killer Bee Foundation. The Killer Bee Foundation provides a grassroots foundation for the growth and development of ice hockey in the Rio Grande Valley, specifically aimed at youth in the community.
November 24- The Killer Bees in conjunction with the Salvation Army will be holding a food drive during the game against the Laredo Bucks on that Wednesday. Fans are encouraged to bring canned foods to the game. Tickets are available by calling 956-843-PUCK (7825).
Movember- The Killer Bees are all growing mustaches for the 'Movember' awareness campaign. The mustache serves as a 'ribbon' for men's health, specifically raising awareness for Prostate Cancer. Fans can follow along with photo galleries and links to donate at killerbeehockey.com
The Killer Bees are always looking for ways to get involved with important community events. Charity organizations can request a player or mascot appearance or other donation requests on killerbeehockey.com.
