Kansas City Mavericks News Release
TULSA, Okla. - The Missouri Mavericks extendend their winning streak to a season-best four games with a 3-0 shutout win in Tulsa on Friday night. Rookie goalie Eamon McAdam stopped a season-high 53 shots for his first pro shutout and helped Missouri's record climb to 22-19-7.

Despite 25 combined first-period shots, neither the Mavericks nor the Oilers were able to push the puck across the line. The Mavericks had two good chances on partial breakaways each by Dane Fox and Dan Correale but Tulsa goalie Colin Stevens swatted away each bid. Tulsa's best chance came early on a 2-on-1 break, but McAdam slid to his left for the pad save and cover.
McAdam, who stared the fourth consecutive game for Missouri, was busy last Saturday when he faced 53 shots in the 7-6 overtime win over Wichita. Tonight, however, he was exceptionally busy during the second period alone when he stopped 28 shots. It was the most shots faced in a period by a Mavericks goalie this season, but McAdam denied everything from high-quality chances in close to shots from the point without a screen in front.
Missouri managed 11 shots in the second period, and all but one came in the second half of the frame. Tulsa held the Mavericks without a shot in the second until nine minutes and change had elapsed.
The entire second period was played at even strength, but an early third-period power play provided all of the offense the Mavericks needed to claim victory. A faceoff win and some quick passing set up Fox inside the right-wing circle and his low wrist shot banked off of a skate and in. The goal at 5:45 of the third broke the scoreless deadlock and gave Fox his 19th of the season.
Tulsa ratcheted up the pressure from there and sent 11 shots McAdam's way over the final 14 minutes and change, but nothing eluded Missouri's netminder. Fox and Reed Seckel added empty-net goals in the waning minutes to provide insurance.
The victory was McAdam's sixth in a row and improved his personal record to 10-3-1 on the season. The Mavericks ended the night 1-for-4 on the power play and 2-for-2 on the penalty kill.
