INDEPENDENCE, MO, (February 12, 2015) - The Missouri Mavericks are ready to give the Jr. Mavs Hockey Team and the visiting Beijing Little Wolves from Beijing, China a hockey experience they will never forget tonight, as the Mavs host a special "pro-game" for the youth hockey teams at Independence Events Center.

"It has been very special to have a young group of kids from another country train and play at the IEC," said Simon Watson, Associate Coach for the Missouri Mavericks & Director of Player Personnel, who has helped host practices and individual lessons for the visiting youth team this past week.

The visiting Beijing Little Wolves traveled to Independence, MO to utilize the facilities of the Independence Events Center and Centerpoint Community Ice and have taken advantage of private lesson sessions as well as shared ice time with the Jr. Mavs.

"The kids on both teams get a huge kick out of it," said Watson. "This experience is going to be a lifelong memory for them, and it has shown them that hockey truly is a worldwide sport on the rise."

The game tonight is free to the public, but canned food donations or monetary donations benefitting Hope House are encouraged. Fans can enter through the South doors of Independence Events Center beginning at 5:30pm (CST). Limited concessions will be available on the South concourse behind section 104.

This youth game will be unlike any other, featuring exciting elements of a Missouri Mavericks professional game as the youth skaters, age 8-10 years old, take to the ice as they've never done before!

Hockey fans throughout Kansas City are encouraged to attend this special event and cheer on the young hockey players, for a unique and memorable game they will never forget.
