Game Preview

Tonight will be the second and final meeting of the regular season between the Kalamazoo Wings and the Orlando Solar Bears. Kalamazoo dropped the first encounter of the season 3-1 back on November 30th at Wings Stadium.

Despite earning points in two of their last three road contests, the K-Wings head down to the Sunshine State looking to snap a season-high tying three-game (0-1-1-1) winless streak. Tonight is the first of three games in state of Florida for Kalamazoo and the third-game of a season-long five-game road swing.

This evening starts a five-game home stand for the Solar Bears. So far this season, Orlando is 9-7-1-0 at home; however, they have won four out of their last five contests at the Amway Center. The Solar Bears are currently in fifth place in the East Division and four points behind the Greenville Road Warriors for fourth.

Defenseman Sacha Guimond has left the team to play in Europe. The K-Wings have placed Guimond the team suspended list.

Defenseman Sam Ftorek is riding a five-game point streak. Besides the point streak, Ftorek needs one more assist (187) to pass Kevin Evans (1985-91) for 8th place all-time in team history for assists.

Against the East

Kalamazoo has fared alright against teams for the East Division. Entering tonight, the K-Wings are 4-4-0-0 versus East Division squads.

Ending a Streak

The K-Wings enter tonight trying to snap a three-game road winless (0-1-1-1) streak. The three-game road streak ties the longest this season for the K-Wings.
