WICHITA, KS - The Missouri Mavericks took the final game of their season series against the Wichita Thunder with a 3-2 victory on Sunday evening at INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita, KS. The win boosts the league-leading Mavs up to 101 points in the standings-the first team in the ECHL to surpass the 100-point mark this season.

Net-minder Steven Summerhays earned his fourth win of the season for Missouri in his fifth start between the pipes, stopping 28 of 30 shots on goal through a full 60 minutes of play.

Both teams were scoreless through the first period of play despite the Mavericks dominant 13:1 shots on goal ratio over the Thunder. It was Michael Neal who would break the stalemate 8 minutes into the second frame before the Mavs could tie it up 1-1 just 45 seconds later. The tying goal came from Josh Holmstrom (his 14th tally of the season), assisted by defensemen Bryce Aneloski and Trevor Ludwig.

Then Logan Nelson stole the lead away for the Thunder on a power-play at 13:51 of the second period. The home team's lead was once again short-lived as Darian Dziurzynski put away his 21st goal of the season (7th for the Mavericks) at 17:56 with the help of Rocco Carzo and net-minder Summerhays. Dziurzynski has scored a goal in each of the Mavs last three games.

Reed Seckel gave Missouri their first lead of the night and the eventual game-winning goal 2:25 into the final frame of regulation with the help of Chris Owens and David deKastrozza. The goal was Seckel's 7th of the season and his 1st game-winning tally for the Mavs.

Missouri returns home to Silverstein Eye Centers Arena on Wednesday, Mar. 23 when they will face-off against the visiting Evansville IceMen at 7:05p.m. Tickets for all Missouri Mavericks home games are available online at Ticketmaster.com and in-person at the arena box office.
