TODAY'S GAME

The South Carolina Stingrays match up against the Greenville Swamp Rabbits for the final time this season today. The Stingrays moved into sole possession of first place in the South Division with a 2-1 win over Florida last night, giving them a two point advantage over the Everblades. The Swamp Rabbits are fighting for a playoff spot and earned a big 5-0 win at Atlanta last night to keep their hopes alive. South Carolina is 5-4-1-0 versus Greenville this season and has claimed four straight wins versus the rival Swamp Rabbits.

KEEPING THEM IN CZECH

South Carolina goaltender Vitek Vanecek enjoyed another sensational performance last night, stopping 24 shots to earn his eighth straight victory and improve his goals against average to 2.04, good for second best in the ECHL. Vanecek has not lost in regulation since January 23 and is coming off being named the ECHL CCM Goaltender of the Week. His last start versus Greenville he recorded a 28 save shutout in a 4-0 win on February 10.

STAAL STANDS TALL

Forward Jared Staal scored the game-winning goal with only 5:36 to play in last night's game to earn South Carolina a 2-1 victory and move them into first place in the South Division. The forward is having a career year with 22 points and 11 goals. TODAY'S GAME
