
Mavericks Announce More Roster Movement

INDEPENDENCE, Missouri - The Missouri Mavericks announced Saturday the Central Hockey League (CHL) team has signed forward Tyler Ruel. The Mavericks also announced forward Carlyle Lewis has been placed on the 10-day injured reserve (IR) and forward Nathan O'Nabigon has been moved from the 10-day to the 30-day IR. Also, forward Sebastien Thinel has been suspended by the CHL for one game.
"We have not been happy with our performance lately and that frustration showed with Thinel's suspension," said Mavericks' President and General Manager Brent Thiessen. "We will find out what this team is made of in the coming weeks."
Ruel, 25 (2/16/86), enters his rookie season after playing the previous three seasons with the University of British Columbia. The Port Alberni, British Columbia native totaled 45 points on 14 goals and 31 assists in 71 games played at the university. A 6-foot, 180-pound forward, Ruel played one season with Wayne State University and five seasons with the Alberni Valley Bulldogs of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) prior to his career at the University of British Columbia. Ruel had his career season with the Bulldogs during the 2006-07 season where he had 30 goals and 54 assists for 80 points in 60 games played.
The Mavericks also placed forward Carlyle Lewis on the 10-day injured reserve and moved forward Nathan O'Nabigon from the 10-day to the 30-day IR.
Forward Sebastien Thinel was suspended for one game by the CHL and will sit out the Mavericks' contest tonight against the Quad City Mallards at i wireless Center.
The Mavericks and Mallards will drop the puck tonight at 7:05 p.m. Missouri will return home for a game Tuesday night at Independence Events Center against the Laredo Bucks.
