
Mavericks Announce Jersey Vote and Updated Mobile App

INDEPENDENCE, Missouri - The Missouri Mavericks announced Wednesday the Central Hockey League (CHL) club is giving fans the chance to vote on the team's St. Patrick's Day jerseys. The Mavericks also announced that version 2 of the team's mobile application is available in iTunes and the Android market.
For the first time in the Mavericks' three-year history, the team is allowing fans to vote on a jersey to be worn during the regular season. The Mavericks will wear specialty jerseys on St. Patrick's Day, Saturday, March 17 when the team hosts the Tulsa Oilers. Mavericks' fans will have the option to vote online at www.MissouriMavericks.com on four different St. Patrick's themed jerseys and the jersey with the most votes will be worn by the team on March 17. Voting ends on January 15. After the game, the jerseys will be auctioned off benefitting Community Services League. "We wanted to hear from our fans and give them the chance to select the jerseys the team will wear," said Mavericks' President and General Manager Brent Thiessen.
The Mavericks also announced the team's mobile application for iTunes and the Android Market has been updated and has many new features. Fans will still have the ability to get all of the Mavericks' news, schedule, merchandise, team bios, videos, photos and stats. Live audio streaming for all of the Mavericks' games is also still available.
The new update has a Fan Zone complete with noisemakers, and fans have the ability to upload their own photos directly to the app. There is also a new "Directions" tab in which fans can get directions to Independence Events Center and also get the weather forecast for game days.
"We are excited to release version 2 of our mobile app making it easier for our fans to follow the team," said Thiessen. "We think our fans will like the new look and features contained in the new version."
The Mavericks teamed up with Onseeker Technologies to build the application. Onseeker Technologies provides solutions for marketing challenges that are generally faced by entertainment type of businesses. Onseeker specializes in entertainment marketing and promotion, including website development, and mobile application development solutions. Onseeker's full service approach also includes ongoing product development and updates, enhanced monetization models, search engine marketing, business development and more.
The Mavericks open up the 2012 portion of their schedule this weekend, getting visits to Independence Events Center from the Tulsa Oilers on Friday, January 6 and the Quad City Mallards on Saturday, January 7.
