Texas' Phil Fox Named 50/50 Central/CHL Rookie of the Month

GLENDALE, AZ (January 4, 2012) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Texas forward Phil Fox has been named the recipient of the 50/50 Central/CHL Rookie of the Month (December/2011). The first-year forward will receive a special gift courtesy of 50/50 Central and the Central Hockey League.

During the month of December, Fox scored 13 points including five goals and eight assists. He also led his team with a +5 plus/minus rating. The Stillwater, Minnesota helped his team to a 6-5-3 record earning points in nine of their 14 contests. Twice, Fox recorded three point games with his two goals, one assist performance in a December 28 win over Laredo standing out as his best.

Overall, the 26-year-old is fifth among rookies with 24 points (10-14$) and tied for fifth with a +7 plus/minus rating.

Fox joined the Brahmas after a successful four-year career at Northern Michigan University. In 155 career collegiate games, the 5-11, 205-pound scored 40 goals and recorded 65 points.
