Berube Called up to Texas of the American Hockey League

Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans of the Central Hockey League announced today that defenseman Mike Berube has been recalled by the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League.

Mike Berube played in 29 games for the Americans this season, scoring nine points, and was a +11. Berube went to training camp with the Texas Stars this year, then returning to Allen before the start of the 2011-2012 CHL season.

In other Americans news, the team announced that forward Lachlan MacIntosh has retired, effective immediately. MacIntosh played in 14 games this season, netting 4 points (2 goals, 2 assists). MacIntosh was acquired from Missouri in December of 2011, in exchange for defenseman Steve Kaunisto and goalie Brian Mahoney-Wilson.

The team has also come to terms with forward Jeff Martens, on a contract for the 2011-2012 season. Martens played in 13 games with Arizona this year, scoring one goal and tallying two assists. He played with the CHL Champion Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs last season. The Americans also signed forward Aaron McGill to a contract, while waving defenseman Michael Jordan. McGill, a native of Salem, Oregon, recently played for the Augusta River Hawks of the SPHL.
