
Materukhin Acquired From Louisiana for Galbraith

Pensacola, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots announced today that forward Jade Galbraith has been traded to the Louisiana IceGators for right wing Alex Materukhin (pronounced Matt-ee-roo-kin).
Materukhin, who stands 6'1" and weighs 200 pounds, has played in 28 games for Louisiana this season scoring 5 goals, 6 assists for 11 points and has picked up 38 penalty minutes. He played in 67 regular season games for the IceGators last season scoring 27 goals, 34 assists for 61 points and picked up 128 penalty minutes and also played in two games with Houston of the AHL.
Materukhin played in 69 games for Richmond during the 2002-2003 season scoring 13 goals, 13 assists for 26 points and picked up 70 penalty minutes. He also played in the USHL for Des-Moines and for Acadie-Bathurst in the QMJHL. Materukhin is 23 years old from Kiev, Ukrane and shoots right.
Galbraith has played in 24 games for the Ice Pilots this season scoring 4 goals, 8 assists for 12 points and has picked up 25 penalty minutes.
"This trade will benefit both players. Alex played for me in the past and it is a great opportunity for him to get out of his scoring slump and Jade will be playing for a coach that he played for last season which will find him in a familiar role with Coach Gordon," said Ice Pilots Head Coach Dave Farrish.
The Ice Pilots will play home tomorrow night vs. Reading at 7:05 p.m. It is College Night. All college students can show their ID at the Civic Center box office and receive $5 off a $10 ticket to the game. Also, an autograph session with the entire team will take place after the game.
The Ice Pilots will also play home this Friday and Saturday night vs. Louisiana at 7:05 p.m. Fans will have a chance to win two tickets to the game on Saturday nig! ht with a Black Tie Bridal promotion. The Jr. Ice Pilots will host a c huck a puck during the intermission.
Saturday night is Elvis Night. Fans are asked to dress up as Elvis as it is his birthday and a contest will take place during the intermission of the game with prizes to be given away. It is also another Florida Lottery Second Chance Night. The first 100 fans who bring $5 worth of non winning Florida Lottery Tickets to the Civic Center box office for the game on Saturday night will receive a ticket to the game.
