Texas Wildcatters News Release
Beaumont, TX (January 3, 2005)â The Texas Wildcatters, an affiliate of the Florida Panthers (NHL) and San Antonio Rampage (AHL), played three games last week posting a 1-1-1 record.
On Thursday, the Wildcatters halted their 10-game winless streak with a 2-1 win in a close fought battle against the Louisiana IceGators. Wildcatters goals came from Ryan Fultz and Terry Marchant. Netminder Phil Osaer won his second game on home ice, facing 34 shots and turning aside 33.
The first day of the new year had the Wildcatters taking on the Reading Royals in Texas for the first time ever. The âCatters fell in the shootout 3-2 as goalie Phil Osaer faced 49 shots in regulations before the loss in the eighth round of the shootout. Wildcatters goals were scored by Dean Stork and John Snowden.
In the rematch the Royals scored four second period goals and went onto win the game by a final score of 6-2. The âCatters had goals from defenseman Dean Stork for the second night in a row and Eric Sonnenberg scored his first professional goal of the year.
The Wildcatters close out their eight-game homestand this weekend with a games Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday the âCatters will face off with the Mississippi Sea Wolves and on Sunday the Pensacola Ice Pilots will be in Beaumont.
Rampage Update
Jeremy Swanson has played four games with the Rampage posting a (+2) rating with 6 penalty minutes.
Home Cookin'
The Wildcatters are in the midst of an eight-game homestand which stretches through January 9th. The âCatters have played six of the eight games ( 1-3-2) at home and will play their next game on Saturday, January 8th against division rival Mississippi at 7:05.

The Wildcatters have two games this upcoming week. The Mississippi Sea Wolves are in town on Saturday night for the sixth meeting between the teams. The âCatters are 1-3-1 against the Sea Wolves. The team has back-to-back games scheduled Saturday and Sunday. Sunday's match up is against the Pensacola Ice Pilots. Andrew Ianiero leads the team against both the Sea Wolves with 7 points (2g, 5a) and the Ice Pilots with 4 points (1g, 3a).
