THE WEEK AHEAD

Tuesday, January 4th Inferno vs. Florida Everblades Carolina Coliseum 7:30pm

This is the first of five meetings between the Inferno and Everblades. The Inferno is 12-8-1 all-time against Florida. The Everblades is tied for first place with 37 points (18-12-1) in the South Division, along with Pensacola.

Friday, January 7th Inferno @ Charlotte Checkers Cricket Arena 7:00pm

Charlotte is currently in tied for second place in the East Division with 36 points (17-13-2) in 32 games. This is the sixth out of 10 meetings for the Inferno and Checkers. Columbia is 2-2-1 this season and 13-5-3 all-time.

Saturday, January 8th Inferno @ Greenville Grrrowl Bi-Lo Center 7:05pm

Columbia is 3-0-0 this season and 19-6-1 all-time against the Grrrowl. Greenville is in third place in the East Division with 35 points (16-12-3) but the Inferno has 5 games at hand. This is the fourth of 10 meetings between these two teams.

The Columbia Inferno defeated the Greenville Grrrowl 3-2 as they win their fourth straight game. The Inferno scored two quick goals in the first period, as Ryan Campbell netted his seventh goal of the season only 43 seconds into the game with a backhanded shot. Chanse Fitzpatrick assisted on the goal. At 3:23, Bryson Busniuk gave the Inferno a 2-0 lead as he scored his ninth goal of the season with help Eric Boulton. Fitzpatrick scored the third goal for the Inferno at 17:35 of the second period as D'Arcy McConvey set him up. Greenville did not back down as they scored two goals in the third period, including a 5-on-3 power play goal, but could not get passed the Inferno defenseman. Mike Minard improves his record to 12-0-2 as he stopped 23 of 25 shots on goal.

Saturday, January 1st Inferno 0 PEE DEE 7

The Pee Dee Pride earned a shutout as they smothered the Inferno Saturday night 7-0. Pee Dee scored three goals in each of the first and second periods and added one more in the third. Inferno goaltender Mike Minard faced 42 shots and stopped 35 pucks. Minard earned his first lose as his record changes to 12-1-2. The Inferno, faced with a short bench, had 24 shots on goal and was 0-for-2 on the power play.
