Tacoma Defiance on Saturday continues its 2021 USL Championship campaign with the second match of a three-game road stretch, facing off with Phoenix Rising FC (7:30 p.m. PT / ESPN+). This marks the first of four meetings this season between Tacoma and Phoenix.
Ahead of Saturday's match, Defiance has agreed to a USL Standard Loan with Sounders FC First Team midfielder/defender Jimmy Medranda.
Defiance suffered its first loss of the season on Saturday, June 5 with a 2-0 result at Las Vegas Lights FC. Prior to that, Tacoma earned a pair of home wins a few weeks back at Cheney Stadium, capping a three-match unbeaten run to start the season. On May 13, Defiance emerged victorious in a 3-1 result over San Diego Loyal SC before recording its first shutout of the season on May 16, defeating Orange County SC 1-0. Defiance opened the season on May 9 with a 1-1 road draw against LA Galaxy II.
Wade Webber's side concludes its road stretch on Wednesday, June 16 against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC (6:00 p.m. PT / ESPN+).
