Match Preview: New York Concludes Five Matches in 15 Days at Montreal
August 31, 2018 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
New York Red Bulls News Release
HARRISON, N.J. - The New York Red Bulls (17-6-4, 55 pts) look to stretch their MLS unbeaten streak to seven for the first time since 2016 as they travel to face the Montreal Impact (10-14-3, 33 pts) on Saturday at Saputo Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET with coverage on MSG, MSG GO and New York Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish on TuneIn.
Coverage of Saturday's match on MSG begins at 7 p.m. with Honda Red Bulls Game Night. Steve Cangialosi will have the primary play-by-play responsibilities and will be alongside Shep Messing and Michelle Gingras.
New York Red Bulls Radio goes live at 7 p.m. ET with Honda Countdown to Kickoff, hosted by Matt Harmon. Ernesto Motta will carry the Spanish play-by-play broadcast, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday's match will be the fifth game in 15 days for New York. During this current five games in 15-day stretch, the Red Bulls are unbeaten with a 2-0-2 mark. New York opened up the stretch with back-to-back road draws against Vancouver (2-2) and NYCFC (1-1) before coming home and tallying back-to-back 1-0 home victories over D.C. United and the Houston Dynamo.
The Red Bulls look to continue their road success into Saturday's game. New York is riding a four-match road unbeaten streak, owning a 2-0-2 mark and two 1-0 shutouts. The Red Bulls are 6-4-3 away from Red Bull Arena this season. New York's six road victories are just two shy of the franchise record set back in 2000.
Despite New York owning an impressive 9-0-0 mark against Montreal in Red Bull Arena, the Red Bulls have struggled to find success North of the border. New York is just 1-4-2 in Montreal and 0-2-1 at Saputo Stadium.
New York will have a week off for the September FIFA break before heading on the road to face D.C. United on Sunday, Sept. 16 at Audi Field. Coverage begins at 1 p.m. ET on ESPN, ESPN Deportes and New York Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish on TuneIn.
