ATLANTA - Atlanta United continues its defense of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup title Wednesday as the team travels to face Nashville SC in the Round of 32 at GEODIS Park. The match is set to kick-off at 8 p.m. EST and all U.S. Open Cup matches will be broadcast on ESPN+.

Atlanta defeated Chattanooga FC 6-0 on April 20 at Fifth Third Bank Stadium in the third round of the tournament, the club's largest margin of victory in its U.S. Open Cup history. Dom Dwyer scored a brace and is now tied for second in U.S. Open Cup goals in club history. Ronald Hernández, Marcelino Moreno, Luiz Araújo and Brooks Lennon each scored their first goals in the tournament for Atlanta.
Atlanta is 8-2 all-time in U.S. Open Cup play, 6-1 at home and 2-1 on the road. This will be the first match between the two clubs in U.S. Open Cup and the first meeting in 2022. Atlanta holds a 2-2-2 record against Nashville in MLS play and is 1-1-1 at home and on the road.
Nashville is one of eight MLS teams entering the tournament in the Round of 32. Nashville is coming off a 2-0 win in MLS against Real Salt Lake on Sunday with goals from Dave Romney and C.J. Sapong in the team's second match at newly opened GEODIS Park.
Atlanta United are the reigning U.S. Open Cup champions after winning the last edition of the competition in 2019, defeating Charleston Battery, Columbus Crew, Saint Louis FC, Orlando City SC and Minnesota United on its way to the title.
Atlanta is coming off a 4-1 victory against Chicago Fire FC on Saturday. Forward Ronaldo Cisneros completed the fastest hat trick from kickoff in club history in the 36th minute and was named MLS Player of The Week.
