CHESTER, Pa. - The Philadelphia Union took on Orlando City SC on Tuesday night at Exploria Stadium in the Round of 32 of the 2022 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, falling 2-1. The first half ended scoreless with both teams creating chances. Orlando's Ercan Kara opened the scoring in the 54th minute with a shot from the center of the box. Three minutes later, Andrés Perea doubled Orlando's lead from a long-ranged shot. In the 77th minute, the Union cut the lead in half with midfielder Jose Martinez finding defender Stuart Findlay in the box to score his first goal for the club. The Union dominated the closing minutes of the second half but couldn't find the equalizer.
The Union are back at home to take on rivals New York Red Bulls at Subaru Park on Saturday, May 14 (7:30 p.m. ET / PHL17).
