August 3, 2007 - Southern League (SL1)
Carolina Mudcats News Release

Zebulon, NC --- The Florida Marlins have announced a series of player moves impacting the Double-A Carolina Mudcats, with one player heading back to the majors and two others continuing their major league rehabilitation assignments with the Mudcats.

RHP Carlos Martinez has been promoted to the Marlins about 14 months after undergoing Tommy John surgery. Martinez was 1-1 with a 3.38 ERA over 19 appearances with Carolina.

Meanwhile, OF Alejandro DeAza and RHP Logan Kensing have been added to Carolina's roster. DeAza and Kensing are both currently on the 60-day DL for the Marlins, Kensing recovering from Tommy John surgery, while DeAza is recovering from a left ankle stress fracture. Both have begun their rehab performances in the Gulf Coast League, then advancing to the Florida State League. DeAza is starting tonight's opener against West Tenn in centerfield, while Kensing is scheduled to pitch an inning Friday, Sunday and Tuesday.

The Mudcats currently sit with a roster of 22 players, plus two major league rehabbers. A revised roster is attached.
