
Marlies Drop Crunch in Front of Sold out Crowd

The Toronto Marlies defeated the Syracuse Crunch, AHL affiliate of the Tampa Bay Lightning, by a score of 6-3 in front of a sold out crowd at Ricoh Coliseum. Today's game marked the first of two school day games for the Marlies.
In a penalty filled opening period, each team would register two goals despite the Crunch outshooting the Marlies 22-5. Philip-Michael Devos and J.T. Brown notched goals for Syracuse, while Ryan Hamilton and Spencer Abbott scored for Toronto. Paul Ranger, Jesse Blacker and Spencer Abbott scored unanswered tallies in the middle frame, giving the Marlies a 5-2 lead heading into the third period. Ryan Hamilton scored into an empty net to secure the victory for Toronto.
The Marlies return to the ice on Saturday afternoon when they host the Abbotsford Heat, AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames. Puck drop is set for 3 p.m. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling the team's ticket line at 416-597-PUCK (7825).
