Toronto Marlies News Release

The Toronto Marlies announced Wednesday their 76 game, 2014-15 regular season schedule. Toronto will begin their quest for a fourth straight division title at Ricoh Coliseum on Saturday, October 11 at 3 p.m. against the Utica Comets.

Weekend games dominate the Marlies schedule this season as the team will play 30 of their 38 home games on weekend dates. The weekend home schedule is highlighted by 15 Saturday games, 10 Sunday games and five Friday contests. Remaining home games are comprised of five Wednesday games, two Tuesday games and one Monday game. The team's only Monday game will be played on the afternoon of February 16 (Family Day) at Air Canada Centre against the Binghamton Senators. The Marlies will also play two other regular season games in NHL arenas this season. The team travels to the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa on February 15 for a game against Binghamton and to the Bell Centre in Montreal for a divisional contest against Hamilton on March 15.

The Marlies longest homestand this season is four games, on two different occasions during the month of March. The first four-game set begins on March 6 against the Adirondack Flames and ends with an 11:00 a.m. contest on March 11 against Lehigh Valley. The club's second four-game homestand stretches from March 20 through March 28. Toronto's longest road trip spans eight games, beginning with a November 5 contest in Texas against the Stars and ending on November 21 against division rival Hamilton. The Marlies will cover over 6,000 km and three different time zones during the road trip.

In all, the Marlies will take-on 17 of 30 potential opponents in the AHL this season. Of the 38 divisional games, Toronto faces its QEW-rival Hamilton a total of 12 times (six in each city), highlighted by an afternoon game at Ricoh Coliseum on Boxing Day. The remaining divisional games will consist of 10 contests against Rochester (five in each city), eight games against Utica (four in each city) and eight games versus Adirondack (four in each city). The Adirondack Flames, AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames, join the North Division in place of the Lake Erie Monsters, who enter the AHL's Midwest Division.

The Marlies will close out their 2014-15 regular season schedule with three games in three nights on the road. Toronto will play Milwaukee on Friday, April 17, followed by Rockford on Saturday, April 18 and Chicago on Sunday, April 19.
