2014-15 Utica Comets Schedule Released

The Utica Comets and the American Hockey League have announced their 2014-15 regular season schedule. The second season of Comets hockey will begin with a weekend series in Toronto when they face the Marlies on Saturday, Oct. 11 and Sunday, Oct. 12.

Opening weekend in Utica will begin with a contest on Wednesday, Oct. 22 against the Adirondack Flames at 7:35 p.m. It will continue with a Friday night affair against the San Antonio Rampage on Oct. 24 and a finish off on Saturday, Oct. 25 with the Toronto Marlies in town.

Utica will once again have a fan-friendly schedule with 24 of their 38 home games occurring on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Comets fans will have an opportunity to see 16 different AHL teams play against the Comets this season, including 13 of the other 14 teams in the Western Conference.

The growing rivalry with the Syracuse Crunch will reach a new level this season with six meetings between the two clubs. Their first meeting will be part of the Toyota Frozen Dome Classic on Nov. 22, held at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse. That historic matchup will be followed up just four days later, Nov. 26, with the Crunch first visit to The AUD this season. The Comets will also finish the home portion of their regular season schedule on April 12, 2015 against Syracuse.

The Adirondack Flames, Calgary's affiliate which relocated from Abbotsford, BC to Glens Falls, NY this summer, will be Utica's most frequent opponent as the two rivals will meet 12 times. As for the rest of the North Division, the Comets will see the Hamilton Bulldogs 10 times, and both the Rochester Americans and Toronto Marlies eight times.

Season tickets for are on sale now and individual game tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Oct. 4 at the Utica Memorial Auditorium box office. They will be available over the phone and online through Ticketmaster only at 1 p.m. For more information call 315-790-9070.
